Q: How do I apply for an IT job that is listed on one of your website partner sites – like Career Junction?

Log onto the site and follow the instructions to load your CV. Once you’ve loaded your CV, the site will email it to us directly. Please don’t forget to include the job reference number so that we can send it to the Consultant who advertised the job.

Q: What happens once I’ve sent my CV to you?

Once we receive your CV, our system matches it to the IT job that you applied for – and sends your CV directly to the Consultant who is managing that job.

If you’re a good match, she will call you to arrange a face-to-face interview in our offices.

It’s a good idea to ensure that you include the job reference number in your CV application as this makes it easier for us to match you quickly with the job that you applied for.

Q: How long after submitting my CV can I expect to hear from you?

The time varies depending on the IT job that you applied for. We always try to respond to CV’s as soon as possible.

Q: Will you ask me for references?

Yes – you’ll be asked to provide the names of the Managers that you reported to in previous jobs. These people will be contacted during your recruitment process.

Once you’ve accepted an offer of employment, we may also talk to your current employer – with your permission, of course.

We’re required to verify the information that you give to us, so we’ll also ask you to complete a Kroll Personal Credential Verification Authorisation form so that we can conduct standard credit, criminal, qualification and South African ID checks on you.

It’s a good idea to discuss any potential issues that may arise with your checks with your Consultant during your face to face interview.

Q: What documentation will you require from me?

We’ll need you to bring the following documentation to your face-to-face interview with our Consultant:

  • A copy of your CV.
  • All of your educational certificates – including your Matriculation certificate.
  • A copy of your latest pay slip.
  • Your South African ID book.

When you arrive at our offices, you’ll be asked to complete an Insource.ICT application form and a Kroll Personal Credential Verification Authorisation form .

Q: What if I don’t have copies of my educational certificates?

It’s possible to obtain copies from the educational institution. According to Kroll, up to 40% of the qualifications that they test are not legitimate.

To protect yourself and to make verification easier, it’s really important that you quickly replace lost educational certificates.

Q: Is a professionally created CV better than a homegrown CV?

No. Professional CV's, while generally nice to look at, are often an unnecessary expense. Both agencies and client companies examine how you put your CV together to get an idea of the type of person that you are.

Rather spend time creating your own CV - including as much relevant information as possible.

A few hints:

We will retype your CV in our own format, using all of the information that you have provided. This is merely to keep the 'look and feel' of our offering complete.

Keep your CV as simple as possible - include all important information, but don't waffle.

Always include your contact details. There is nothing more frustrating than finding a good candidate CV and having no way of contacting the person.

Don't include any graphics. Most corporate networks block emails over a certain size - or those containing graphics.

Try not to fax your CV. Faxes are often impossible to read.
